This is a group picture of the staff at Concussion Care Centre of Virginia

Virginia Neuro-Optometry is currently open and providing in-office patient care on Mondays and Wednesdays.

As a part of the Concussion Care Centre of Virginia, we are upholding the highest commitment to your care and safety, and infection control is a top priority.  Our office follows infection control recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agency's advise as relevant to our practice situation.  The following infection control procedures will be in place until further notice:

  • Patients will need to arrive 15 minutes prior to their appointment and call the office number 504-270-5484 to go over a number of screening questions related to COVID-19

  • If you pass the screen, you will be asked to come to the front door where your temperature will be taken via forehead thermometer

  • Patients who pass all screening will be asked to sign a COVID-19 consent form prior to their appointment.  You will then be escorted into the exam room

  • ALL patients must be masked at all times inside, during the office visit. The mask must cover the nose and mouth.

    • All staff will be wearing masks as well

  • To avoid congregating in the waiting room and maintain social distancing, all accompanying parties should remain in their vehicle/outside the office during the appointment.  Unfortunately, this means all parents and case managers are not allowed to accompany the patient during the examination at this time.

  • NOTE: Any patient who is sick regardless of the cause or found to have a fever, even if low-grade, will need to reschedule their appointment and should consult with their own family physician

    • Please also note, that we appreciate your concern for our staff as well, and any no-show/cancellation fees will be waived if the patient is sick and cannot come in on the day of their appointment

  • Concussion and traumatic brain injury vision rehab will be monitored with telemedicine visits to reduce the number of office visits.

We appreciate your understanding regarding these precautions which are for the health and safety of you, your family, and our staff.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Concussion Care Centre of Virginia at 804-270-5484
